Welcome to High Point Hideout, a one of a kind mountain top log cabin perfectly positioned on the way to Yellowstone National Park. Located between the historic town of Cody and Yellowstone’s East Entrance, this panoramic retreat offers sweeping views and a cozy cabin basecamp. Set high above the valley floor, you will enjoy unmatched mountain scenery, frequent wildlife sightings, and easy access to the North Fork Highway along the Shoshone River for fishing, hiking, and exploring. Please note that Yellowstone’s East Entrance is closed to regular vehicle traffic from November 1 through May 1, with winter access available by guided snowcoach or snowmobile tours.
Inside, this unique western cabin has rustic charm and a distinctive layout perfect for families or small groups. The fully equipped kitchen features a vintage stove, and the cozy living area invites you to gather and unwind after a day of adventure. The main level offers a queen bedroom and full bathroom with tub and shower combination. Upstairs, a separate loft style bedroom with two queen beds is accessed by an interior ladder or exterior stairs, adding to the authentic cabin experience. With space for up to six guests, and optional sleeping cots available, this home is ideal for families, couples, or friends traveling together.
Step outside onto the wraparound porch and multiple decks to take in breathtaking sunrise and sunset views, sip your morning coffee, or simply listen to the quiet of the mountains. Wildlife such as deer, elk, and other native species are often seen in the area, making every stay feel like a true Wyoming escape. With its elevated setting, western character, and unforgettable views, High Point Hideout offers a peaceful and adventurous home base between Cody and Yellowstone.
*This property does not have AC. At night temperatures drop to the 55 or 60 degrees and low to no humidity, opening windows at night cools the property down and lets in the fresh mountain air!
*There is approximately 1.7 miles of unpaved road going to the cabin. This mountain road is generally accessible to passenger cars, SUVs, and trucks during dry weather conditions. In periods of wet or inclement weather, the roadway may become hazardous. Under such conditions, access should be attempted only with properly equipped all- wheel or four-wheel drive vehicles.
**This property does not have laundry facilities; the town of Cody does offer 2 laundromats.

My family of five stayed for three nights. This property has amazing views of the Wapiti valley. The property is well maintained and has all the basic amenities you will need. The stove/oven is awesome to cook with. Upper loft is great for kids; mine loved the ladder. My wife and I utilized the outside stairs to access the loft. Property has a cell signal booster so you can text and call without problem. No Wi-Fi, but you're not going to this property to be sitting on technology all day. We actually thought this was a blessing, especially with our kids so they can appreciate the beautiful area. Drive to YNP IS easy and beautiful. Make sure you take your garbage to the bear proof dumpster - simple and important process. We would stay here again!

This was the perfect location for our son's grad trip to Yellowstone! 30 minutes to town & 30 to the park. The drive in and out wasn't busy at all and the scenery was stunning! We ate every meal on the porch just to soak in all the beauty! The only challenge for us was 5 people sharing one bathroom, but the "kids" in our group loved having their own loft space. It definitely got hotter up there with no AC, but cooled down pretty quickly once the windows were opened. We loved the property & would definitely stay again! Thanks for hosting some wonderful memories!

Views for miles!
Our family of 5 stayed here as the jumping off point for our Yellowstone trip. The views are amazing! We ate all our meals outside so we could soak them all in. The location was great with easy access to both Cody and Yellowstone. The drive in and out of the park is scenic and uncrowded. The cabin is charming, and fully equipped with everything we needed. The check in and out process was simple and the Cody Lodging Co did a great job communicating everything we needed to know. The only challenge we had was 5 people sharing one bathroom! A mirror in the bedroom and loft, could go a long way to help alleviate that problem. We would love to stay here again!

Hideaway in the Hills
Truely secluded home in the mountains of Wapiti, WY. Wish there were a bathroom upstairs, but it was a nice & spacious place. My family of 4 slept in the loft and my in laws in the main area. Plenty of space especially upstairs. We didn't see any wildlife.

The scenery is amazing! My kids LOVED the loft. Cozy cabin. Comfortable beds. We very much enjoyed our stay. Be prepared to travel a gravel, curvy road. It's fun, just know what you're getting yourself into especially in the winter or after heavy rain. We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin!
