Nice Cabin
The cabin is in a beautiful location, and the beds are comfortable. The shower is small, but doable. The living room and TV could be laid out differently and function better. I recommend changing the shower head to tilt down more and replacing the shades with something more modern that blocks light. But overall it's nice!

WOW/AWESOME
Everything you could want, rustic yet modern cabin and quiet. Beautiful drive to East gate of Yellowstone or Cody. You will not be disappointed.

This cabin is part of a larger home in a beautiful valley where you can hear the Shoshone River nearby. It appears to be a retrofitted garage stall, as it is attached to the main home – there is a door that leads to the main house and you can sometimes hear the owners as they come and go. This wasn't an issue but was a little unexpected. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the unit as the finishings are beautiful and high-end – the bathroom floor, countertops, and woodwork are especially stunning! The bed was very comfortable. The view from the unit's private door is lovely and we saw several deer come and go. The shades are semi-sheer and didn't feel private at all – some curtains in the bedroom that can be drawn shut would be nice. There is no hot plate, oven, or toaster, so we ate cold food or cooked in the microwave. There is a one-cup Keurig and a few provided k-cups. There is no AC in the unit, but we were only really there in the mornings and evenings and were quite comfortable, even in the middle of July. Keep in mind that even though it is just a 35-min drive to the East gate of Yellowstone, you will still need to drive at least an additional 60-90 minutes to get to any of the bigger attractions. Yes, the entire drive to and through the park is beautiful, but it is a LOT of driving, especially if you're navigating your way back to the Airbnb on the winding roads in the dark after a long day of exploring. There is very limited cell service, and although the owners provide high-speed internet/Wi-Fi to the Apple TV in the unit, they do not share the Wi-Fi password. This would be enough to discourage me from visiting again, as it made planning our day trips and keeping tabs on issues back home quite a bit more challenging.

The property was amazing. It is a good base location to travel to other points of interest. It was so....so quite! and the scenery was indescribable. I'm not sure it would be suitable for a family with kids that like to play outside or want to cookout, but we were on the move a lot. For a couple, you'd be hard pressed to find a better place. Also, I highly recommend the Bill Cody Ranch a few miles away for breakfast , dinner and horseback riding.

We were just speechless with the details inside of the cabin and the view. This isn't a typical old fashioned cabin. The details on the flooring and decor takes it to another level. Home away from home feeling. Bed extremely comfortable my husband, my 4 year and I shared it. You can hear the river flowing next to it. Cons- we were visiting Yellowstone although it was about a 30-40 min drive to the east entrance, it was another 1 hour to the fishing bridge another 1-1:30 to old faithful. Anyways great stay!

Beautiful view. Quiet and peaceful. Tranquil even. Deer would come into the yard and graze while we sat on the porch. Make sure to read the description and not just the comments. This is an apartment, not a cabin. It is connected to the owners home BUT we were NOT disturbed at all. We would occasionally hear the door into the garage shut when one of them would go out. My family of 3 fit comfortably. Approximately 1 hour from the East gate into Yellowstone. You drive through beautiful scenery to get there/back. Even saw a moose on our last day between the park and apartment entrance.

Very comfortable, quiet place to stay. The sound of the river along with wildlife in the yard make it a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of life. It's a 30 minute drive thought the Shoshone Forest to the east gate of Yellowstone. Only complaints would be the tiny bathroom, lack of wifi, and lack of a grill or stove to cook a meal on (bit of a drive to find a restaurant). However, the quiet beauty surrounding the location of this place more than makes up for its shortcomings. Book it and enjoy getting away from it all!

Excellent
My husband and I spent three nights at Shoshone River Retreat on our trip from Oregon to Mt Rushmore and so enjoyed the peaceful quiet and beauty of the cabin and it's majestic surroundings. The charming cabin was clean and very comfortable and was an easy drive to Yellowstone for a day of exploring and to Cody for dinner. We were grateful for the opportunity to stay there and recommend it highly.

Quiet and Comfortable
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. This beautiful property is off the highway and hidden behind trees so that the only thing you hear is the babbling of the Shoshone River. I could not have enjoyed myself more and highly recommend this property.

Great log house
This is a great place to stay between Cody and Yellowstone. Very quiet with the river in the back yard. Deer everywhere around the house. Only about a 20 min drive to Cody. We would definitely stay here again!!

Very Good
I wished truly that there was an oven. It was an oversight on my part. I also realized at night you could see through the bedroom window even with the blinds drawn. I wouldn't mind so much if it was a stand alone cabin but since there were people in and out of the attached home I felt uncomfortable with the lack of privacy. All in all our stay was great and response for any questions was prompt.

The Shoshone River Retreat was 5 Stars hands down! Amazing views, quiet escape, serene landscape, and the retreat was stocked with every amenity we could possibly need. Thank you for your hospitality and excellent communication. We celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary and were appreciative of the time spent together at this amazing getaway and peaceful location.
