5 Reasons to See the Cody Rodeo

Witness the History of the Wild West

Cody is often called the “Rodeo Capitol of the World” for its running rodeo shows starting in 1919. The Cody Stampede Rodeo has been named “Best Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year” by the Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association. Born from Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show, the stampede and Nite Rodeo honors the legacy of the old West.

The Rodeo Does Not Sell Out

While you should buy tickets in advance, the Cody Nite Rodeo will not sell out! Tickets are sold as general admission, and Cody Nite Rodeo tickets are valid for any night you choose to attend (unless it is during the stampede).

Celebrate the 4th of July at the Stampede

The Cody Rodeo Stampede is a celebration of all things America during the country’s birthday party. The Cody Stampede runs from June 30th to July 4th

Meet a Live Rodeo Bull

If you are bringing kids (or you are a kid at heart), you will love the interactive activities before the Cody Nite Rodeo! Take a picture on the live rodeo bull Mongo, ride a mechanical bull, learn how to rope like a real cowboy/cowgirl, and have your face painted by the rodeo clowns!

Rodeos are Not Common

If you are from the North, the chances are good you’ll never go to a rodeo show while you’re home! Visiting a rodeo is like being transported to a different world where everything feels different than what you are used to. Whether its barrel racing, team roping, or bull riding, everything feels more vivid and exciting when you are at the Cody Rodeo.
