Welcome to the North 40 Cabin, this comfortable modern guest house is on a small (240 acre) horse and cattle ranch. Enjoy the panoramic views from the front porch of the Beartooth and Absaroka mountains as well as Heart Mountain to the south. Kick back and spend time watching the wildlife. Eagles, hawks, antelope, white tail and mule deer are frequently on the property, and the occasional coyote passes through. You can fish nearby on the Clark's Fork River or hike in the Clark's Fork Canyon and other mountain trails. Cody and Powell are each 30 miles away, the scenic Chief Joseph Highway is 15 miles away and takes you to the Northeast Entrance of Yellowstone after a breathtaking mountain drive. (You may see more wildlife on this drive than in the park!). The cabin is available during winter months and conveniently located 1.5 hours from Cooke City and "Top of the World" snowmobile trails.
You are greeted by a quaint porch before entering this home. There is an open living, dining, and kitchen area. The living space offers seating, TV with direct television channels, DVD player and board games to relax and hang out after a day of exploring the area. The kitchen is fully equipped and can accommodate all your cooking needs. For your convenience there is washer and dryer and air conditioning unit for the warmer Wyoming days. Bedroom 1 offers a queen bed and bedroom 2 offers a twin over full bunkbed. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo.
Outside you will find a charcoal grill and firepit, to cook up outdoor meals and roast s’mores. This property also has RV hookups. Bring your horses on vacation with you - there are corrals and pasture available and numerous trail rides locally, ranging from mountain terrain to "old west" badlands.

It was a beautiful place and we loved staying at the North Cabin. We felt right at home. It was everything we hoped it would be. WE hope to be back next year and stay a little longer. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

Solitude
Thankful for the peace and quiet of the cabin. It's the perfect spot for motorcycling and horseback riding all of the scenic routes in this area. Loved using the Northeast entrance to the park, rather than the crowded and long drive to the east entrance. The cabin was clean and comfortable with adorable horses and meadow views.

Best 7 months
Enjoyed the guest house, had everything you needed. But the view was spectacular, we even had northern lights. Antelope were in the fields most days, even saw a coyote. Mountain blue birds stopped by, meadowlarks sang to me in the mornings and evenings. The owners are wonderful, and the horses are so sweet.

This cabin was the perfect size for our family of 4. Views of nearby mountains and wildlife were great. Cabin was clean and had everything you'd need for your stay. It is 30 min from nearest town, but perfect if your looking to get away from any type of city life. Only issue were some pesky moths every evening when we got back to cabin. There is also almost no light out on the ranch at night, so forgetting to leave porch light on before you leave for the day means it will be pretty much pitch black if your return at night. Over all it was a great stay.

We loved our stay at the ranch. It was perfect for our needs and kitchen had what we needed to make a few meals. We enjoyed sitting out on the front porch and looking at the beautiful mountains in front of us. Their horses are friendly and would come up to fence to greet us. We were traveling cross country from Jacksonville Fl touring the National Parks and spending time with family in WA With Yellowstone being closed we spent extra time in Grand Tetons which didn't disappoint. We had to take a southern route to get to Cody since we couldn't travel thru Yellowstone and it took us thru the Wind Reservation which we found beautiful. We also toured Buffalo Bill Dam, Clark's Fork Canyon and Chief Joseph Scenic Highway. We watched the wildlife on the ranch The fact we are on a cross country trip we so appreciate when the property has a washer dryer so we can clean our clothes. We enjoyed going to Cody to do some shopping . If we had more time it would have been great to stay a couple more days. Thank you for opening up your property for us.

Nice country cabin
The cabin was clean and the perfect size for our family of 4. We enjoyed waking up to beautiful views of the mountain and the surrounding ranch. The only complaint was, some of the windows did not have curtains or blinds. Honestly I know that’s more of a personal preference, and I get that being out in the country that might be the norm, but it was just a little uncomfortable for us. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

Ranch Retreat
We loved this place. It was perfect for our needs. We left FL on May 6th for a cross country trip. Traveled across the Southern USA visiting parks before heading up to our sons in the Pacific Northwest. From there we headed East and spent 3 nights at the ranch. It was just perfect for our needs. The house had everything that we needed. Sitting on the porch and looking at those mountains did not get old. We were supposed to go to Yellowstone after Grand Tetons but our plans had to change due to the flooding. It all worked out we saw some incredible scenery we wouldn’t have seen had we spent the time in Yellowstone Being on the road we certainly appreciated having a washer dryer to wash our clothes. Thanks for opening your home to us Joe Mary Beth and Buckie Rae

North 40 cabin
There isn't enough words to describe how great this cabin was. Is was miles from anywhere and the view was as beautiful as what you see in books. Even tho it's far from anything it's still very simple to navigate to town or anywhere you may need to go. We will def be returning in the future!

Perfect Ranch Cabin for Us
The North Forty Ranch cabin was awesome! Located on a working ranch with a fantastic mountain view. Centrally located to Cody, Bighorn Rec Area and Yellowstone's Northeast entrance. We loved having the ranches horses right outside our windows. The owner was kind and easy to chat with. Wifi worked great.
