Jim Mountain Retreat is situated just steps from the Jim Mountain Trailhead in the heart of Wapiti Valley. Located at the top of the hill, this beautiful log home offers panoramic views and lots of privacy.  This five bedroom, four bath home is the perfect place to gather with family and friends. A seasonal* hot tub has been added summer of 2023!


The great room on the upper level features a full kitchen, dining area and comfortable living room space with a television. There are two bedrooms on this level as well. The main bedroom offers a king bed, television and attached bath with a tile shower. The second bedroom has a king bed and views of Jim Mountain. Rounding out this level is a hall bathroom with tub/shower combo and a laundry room. There are 3 additional bedrooms in the lower level. The first features an attached bathroom, coffee station, king bed and access to a covered east facing patio, perfect for the early riser to catch the sunrise. The second bedroom on this level has 2 full size beds, walk through this room to access the 3rd bedroom on this floor featuring a queen bed, twin bed and attached full bath.

Outside you can enjoy impeccable views on the deck and cook up outdoor meals on the gas grill. Make Jim Mountain Retreat your getaway home and enjoy all that Wapiti Valley has to offer!

Beautiful home with outstanding views in all directions. Conveniently located to downtown Cody and the east entrance to Yellowstone National Park. We saw 50+ elk come off the mountains and settle on the low lying area along the main road to Cody / Yellowstone. Highly recommend.

Wonderful House and Location
The home perfectly accommodated me and five 75-80 year old men. Lots of room, and great setting. The property is over two miles off pavement, so I would strongly recommend a four wheel drive vehicle.

Great stay!
This place worked out perfect for our trip to Yellowstone. Was conveniently located to the eastern entrance and the drive there was beautiful. The cabin is private, clean, and well stocked. We LOVED sitting on the patio in the evenings looking at the view. The kids really enjoyed the hot tub. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it!

Excellent Stay at Jim Mountain Retreat
Jim Mountain Retreat has been one of my absolute favorite vacation rentals. We traveled with six people, three of whom were 80+ years old. So, the ability to drive our van to the side sliding door, so that the 80-ers didn't have to navigate steps and we could unload the groceries and bags without steps or a lot of twists and turns was super helpful. The 80-ers stayed in the bedrooms on that level. And, I'm not kidding, my Mom and Dad got teary-eyed when we showed then the primary bedroom and bathroom that they would be staying in. The main living level was everything we expected from a Wyoming house (ie. lots of wood, plenty of animal heads, and absolutely breathtaking views). There was plenty of seating for everyone, without feeling like we were sitting on top of each other. And, the kitchen was mostly fully functional, although it lacked any empty cabinets for our groceries. The ground-level bedrooms were interesting. Let's say they went 1 of 3 in that space. The bedroom that had direct access to the outside patio was great; the bed was super comfortable. The en suite bathroom seemed as if it had been recently updated. And, even though it was a tight fit for two people to get ready, it was functional and super cute. The other bedrooms and bathroom on that level are in need of a big-time update, especially the bedroom without windows and the attached bathroom. Those spaces felt super dated, and the person that stayed and used that space felt really let down after seeing everyone else's bedrooms and bathrooms. The deeper we walked into that level the more dated it became. The outdoor space, the views, and the access to the Jim Mountain trailhead are the real winners at this property. And, the main living level of the house does everything possible to capture that splendor.

JIM MOUNTAIN RETREAT - AWESOME!
This home is nestled on the upper side of Jim Mountain. The views from the large living room windows of the valley and mountains were simply hypnotizing. The house was clean and had eveything you could possibly want. Located in Wapiti, its half way between Cody and Yellowstone Park - Perfect! I would certainly recommend Jim Mountain Retreat to use as a base camp for anyone wanting the Cody/Yellowstone experience.

Had an amazing stay. We are already planning another trip for 2025. The reu ion was awesome and everyone had a super get together. After the first day the trip up the road got easier. Mountain Retreat
The location was amazing and views were spectacular. Pictures did not do the house and view's justice. House was decorated perfectly and had enough space to accommodate all of us for our family reunion. I would highly recommend house and would definitely stay there again. It was absolutely perfect!

Excellent Vacation Rental
We really enjoyed our stay at the Jim Mountain Retreat. The house was very clean when we arrived. The location was beautiful, and the neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. We loved walking to the trailhead at the end of the road and hiking that trail. We rent one to two vacation houses a year, and this was one of my favorites.
