The Four C Ranch is located 12 miles southwest of Cody in the scenic South Fork valley of the Shoshone River. We are surrounded by beautiful mountain vistas and are located at the base of Carter Mountain which towers 6,000 feet above the valley floor (11,000 feet above sea level). This is a working cattle ranch with the owners in full-time residence. Wildlife is abundant with mule deer, white tail deer, pronghorn antelope and the occasional elk, moose and bald eagles. Great horned owls are frequent residents.
The guest house was built in the 1950's and served as the primary ranch residence for 40 years. The house is spacious and comfortable, as well as being very quiet. Marquette Creek runs the full length of the ranch, you'll hear its peaceful sounds from the house. The house features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with plenty of space for your group to spread out. The home has original features as well as modern upgrades to offer the best of country living. A large kitchen makes preparing meals easy. The dining room and living area are spacious and perfect for gathering together after a day of adventure. Large windows throughout the home offer plenty of natural light and views of the surrounding ranch.
It is an easy 20 minute drive into Cody where you can enjoy the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, Old Trail Town and all the amenities that Cody Country has to offer. For the more adventurous, there are a number of trailheads and access roads further up the valley that provide access to the Shoshone National Forest, wilderness areas and lots of hiking and hunting opportunities in the back country. Yellowstone National Park is just 50 miles west of Cody and an hour and a half drive from the ranch.
Come spend some time with us enjoy ranch life and western living at its best.
*Because this home is on a working cattle ranch, there are no pets or guest animals allowed and this is strictly enforced.*

All in all this place was AMAZING! We had a great stay. I'll start with a short list of PROS and CONS: PROS: Host is amazing very knowledgable about the area, Quiet Area, Quiet house (no disrupting others), Layout, Views, Space and comfort, Clean, Spacious kitchen CONS: No WiFi, Spotty Cell service, slight mineral/sulfur odor to the water, low stock on pantry staples My family of four and my parents shared this house while we were in Cody over the 4th of July. We were immediately greeted by the host and given a tour of the house with a little history of the house and the property. The house was fantastic and the host was incredibly nice. He gave us lots of pointers and suggestions for things to do and see in the area. He was also great about helping us when we had any issues or questions, and checked in with us if he saw us sitting outside to make sure everything was going okay. The house itself is very quiet so we weren't disturbing each other if we were on different schedules. The kitchen is spacious and stocked with the basic tools for cooking (pots, pans, spatulas, etc), however, we did find that pantry staples (oil, flour, seasonings, etc) were a little lacking. We were so busy during our days that we didn't end up cooking very often so this didn't have a huge impact on our stay but it if you plan on cooking at the house a lot it's something to keep in mind. The layout is nice. The sitting area is comfy. The dining room has great view. The bedrooms were all comfortable and lots of extra pillows and blankets were available if we needed them. We were worried that it might get too hot without A/C but the temperatures in the house were consistently cool so that was never an issue. One thing that did take some adjusting was the water. There was a slight mineral/sulfur smell to the tap water. Different members of our group noticed it to different extents. It was prominent enough that we felt more comfortable drinking bottled water which we had plenty of for all of our adventuring anyway. But it wasn't so strong as to ruin taking showers, doing dishes, washing hands, or brushing teeth. There was no WiFi and cell service was spotty at times. That was exactly what we wanted for this trip so it was great for us but if it's a must for you this isn't your place. We're already talking about visiting the Cody area again and this will likely be the first place we check for availability when we go. It was a fantastic stay!

This property was the original ranch house and has been turned into a rustic guest house. The original timber beams are still exposed in the ceiling. There is no central A/C unit but due to the mild days and cool nights it is not needed. The property is a short drive from downtown Cody yet far enough away that nights are quite with only the occasional coyote yelps in the distant. This is a working cattle ranch with views of the mountains in both front and back of the house. We would definitely stay here again give the opportunity.
